On Wednesday 31st May, The 2nd Chance Programme, in association with the Compass Group UK, are set to host their latest Secret Kitchen event for a select group of diners at their Larcom Street offices.
The Secret Kitchen is one of the highlights of the 2nd Chance Programme calendar. The project-based learning event offers young people on the programme, aged 18-25 the opportunity to work alongside professional chefs to produce a 3 course meal.
The Secret Kitchen event is held every three months and is the final project of the 20 week e
mployment-readiness programme based in Elephant and Castle. The event which will have a Las Vegas Casino theme represents the culmination of hard work and application for trainees who have taken part on the 2nd Chance Programme. The aim of this final project is for them to coordinate all aspects of a one night pop-up restaurant, from menu design to preparing the dishes on the night and serving the guests.
Coordinated in association with one of the UK’s largest food and support services companies, The Compass Group are assisting with sourcing food, beverages and decorations as part of their own charity challenge.
The Compass Group have tasked their own graduates from across the organisation to assist charitable initiatives, helping to turn £400 into £4,000 through planning and organising their own fundraising projects throughout the year.
The Secret Kitchen event is just the first exciting project taking place in 2017 with planning already underway on other upcoming fundraising initiatives. These are currently being developed so do subscribe to our email subscription service to find out more. For the time-being, we are sworn to secrecy.
