On Tuesday 15th August, trainees from group 10 of the 2nd Chance Programme celebrated their graduation in a formal ceremony held at the magnificent Cinema Museum in Elephant and Castle.
The Graduation ceremony is a long-standing tradition and is always one of the highlights of the 2nd Chance programme calendar. Group 10’s ceremony was no exception where guests, family and friends of the 2nd Chance trainees enjoyed an exceptional evening in a suitably impressive surrounding.
The Cinema Museum, nestled between Elephant and Castle and Kennington tube stations has hosted the 2nd Chance ‘Success Showcase’ project for the last three groups. The ‘Success Showcase’ is the first of three project-based learning projects that the trainees are tasked with and therefore provided a fitting setting for the group 10 Graduation ceremony.
There was an outstanding turnout of young people celebrating the completion of the 2nd Chance Programme, with a number of trainees picking up awards for excelling in each area of the programme.

Programme Director Tromie Dodd said “Once again I am extremely proud of all of our Group 10 Graduates who have completed the 2nd Chance Programme. Across each area of Project-based learning, Functional skills training, coaching and employability, each and every trainee demonstrated dedication, resilience and reliability. I am bowled over by their enthusiasm and have no doubt that the skills and experience that they have acquired throughout the 20 weeks will provide them with the perfect platform on which to go on and succeed in whichever role they have decided to pursue.”
